To is an amazing Vegan chef. Elena said “why have you not been cooking every day”. The dishes had so much flavor. Olivia and Josh joined us today and brought four friends with them. Also Dario and Balisa joined us and they usually do not. I was told to set the table for 14 people. We had 13 and at one of the places Elena filled the water and set it on the plate with 2 small stuffed animals. I ask about it and was told if there are 13 people it is bad luck and someone from the meal will die soon. So you set an extra place. Olivia said one year for Christmas they had 13 people so they had a small table and put one person at it and they kept rotating the person at the small table. Another thing is salt is not in a shaker it is in a bowl with a lid and you sprinkle it on. When you pass the salt you do not put it in the person’s hand you put it on the table and they pick it up. It is because back in the day salt was precious and you didn’t want to spill it. I have not seen black pepper at all.
On a side note Jon, our new workaway, arrived today from Czech Republic.
potatoes in a sauce similar to pesto, I think it was everyone’s favorite dish
I didn’t get a picture but Balisa also made tempura fried zucchini flowers. It was my first time having them and they are delicious.

I am good. It is very hot and the work is not hard but it is outside. No AC. Very different way of life. I am adjusting. Miss you.
